Mark Bucko
Board Member
Mark Bucko has loved Jesus all his life and was baptized at the age of ten. From there, he became a nationally ranked swimmer and decided to pursue a career in broadcast journalism, majoring in political science and journalism at Stanford University.
But God had other plans, pivoting him away from those pursuits into a 15 year business career, mostly with Gap, Inc. working on many strategic and process reengineering efforts in the 90’s. Then, in 1999, the Lord redirected Mark into vocational pastoring where for 23 years, he shepherded in three different churches, the last one being Willow Glen Bible Church in San Jose, CA where he was one of the teaching and discipleship pastors while also pursuing several international ministry passions.
Since the end of 2022 Mark has stepped away from pastoring in a church setting, now emphasizing international ministry in Moldova, India, and wherever God might take him to teach, train, and serve.
Mark and his wife Liz have been married for 42 years, have three adult children and six fabulous grandchildren. They live in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Board Member
Liz Bucko is an educator and church leader based in Santa Cruz, California. A graduate of Stanford University, she spent many years teaching math and science at a private high school in the Bay Area, where she developed a passion for mentoring students both academically and personally.
Liz is currently the Pastor of Small Groups at Redeemer Anglican Church, serving her community by helping others grow in faith and connection. Her deep interest in Christian spirituality led her to train as a Spiritual Director in 2020.
Liz and her husband Mark have three children and six grandchildren, and she delights in family life, learning, and walking alongside others on their spiritual journeys.

Secretary, Board Member
Angie Chadwell, a substitute teacher at a Christian school, brings a deep love for children and a passion for faith-based service to the board. With experience in short-term mission work in Moldova, Angie has also helped raise funds to build a school in Liberia, supporting access to education in underserved communities.
Currently, Angie is working on a project to improve access to clean drinking water at a school for deaf and blind children in Madagascar. Locally, she teaches Bible lessons to elementary students through a public after-school program, investing in young lives with care and joy. Angie is honored to support the mission of helping communities navigate adversity and address vital needs across struggling lands.

Board Member
Rastia brings a heart for service and a wealth of experience working with children and young adults in faith-based settings. For years, she has been a dedicated volunteer with Kids Club, an after-school program where she creates engaging, Christ-centered activities that help children grow in their faith while building strong community connections. Her work in Sunday school has allowed her to share Bible stories and spiritual lessons with young learners, fostering an environment where children feel valued and encouraged to ask questions about their faith.
Beyond her work with children, Rastia is passionate about empowering young women who are transitioning out of foster care. As a mentor with Cititeam’s Youth Collective, she walks alongside these young women during a critical season of their lives, offering guidance, support, and practical life skills training. From teaching cooking basics to facilitating meaningful conversations about communication and relationships, Rastia creates a safe space where young women can build confidence and discover their own strength.
Rastia’s approach to ministry is rooted in compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to see others flourish. Whether she’s leading a Bible study, demonstrating a new recipe, or simply listening to someone’s story, she brings warmth and authenticity to every interaction. Her commitment to serving vulnerable populations reflects her deep faith and her belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and loved.

Chief Financial Officer, Board Member
Alina Munteanu brings over a decade of faithful service to international ministry, having supported ministries in Moldova for 10 years and in Uganda for 5 years. As a founding member of the Board of Directors at Caleb Initiative, she has been part of the organization since its inception, driven by a deep commitment to serving disadvantaged communities around the world.
Her heart for children and youth is evident in both her personal and ministry life. Since 2024, Alina has been actively involved with the kids ministry at Venture Church in San Jose, CA, pouring into the next generation with creativity and care. Prior to that, she volunteered for four years with a kids ministry in Moldova, where she mentored and empowered young teens — helping them discover their potential, and purpose. She also serves in an administrative capacity with her local MomCo chapter, supporting mothers in her community.
At home, Alina and her husband Roman are raising and homeschooling their three children, ages 8, 5, and 1 — a calling she approaches with the same intentionality and love she brings to everything she does.
Professionally, Alina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and spent eight years as a Project Manager at a software company, where she developed strong organizational and leadership skills that she now channels into her nonprofit and ministry work.

Chief Executive Officer, Board Member
Roman’s heart for global ministry spans two decades, with 15 years of involvement supporting ministries in Moldova and 5 years in Uganda. Alongside his wife Alina, he carried a shared vision for years — to create an organization that would reach the most vulnerable: orphaned and disadvantaged children, and elderly individuals without support. That vision became reality in 2023 with the founding of Caleb Initiative, a ministry committed to providing children and families across the world with education, healthcare, and holistic care.
Roman and Alina homeschool their three children, ages 8, 5, and 1, and family is at the core of everything they do. Since 2024, he has been involved with the kids ministry at Venture Church in San Jose, CA where he has led a weekly small group investing in the lives of 2nd and 3rd graders by building faith, shaping character, and pouring lasting values into the next generation. He has also served overseas for three years, mentoring and empowering young teenagers through a kids ministry.
Professionally, Roman brings 15 years of experience founding and scaling technology companies across the US and Europe, having served in multiple founder, CEO, and CTO roles. He delivered over 400 software projects — from initial architecture through launch — spanning web, mobile, and enterprise applications. He has deep expertise in building high-performing teams and bringing products to market on a global scale.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Economic Policies in International Affairs — a foundation that strengthens his ability to lead Caleb Initiative with both vision and strategic clarity.

He has delivered a wide range of projects, from WordPress development and REST API integrations to WHMCS customizations and custom web solutions, with a focus on clean architecture, performance, and maintainability.
At Caleb Initiative, Sergiu serves as Technology Lead, working across the full technical scope, from feature development to server configuration and site optimization. His specialization in WordPress, including custom themes, plugins, optimization, and integrations, allows him to take ownership of technical challenges while keeping the end-user experience in focus.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and works at the intersection of development and product thinking, focusing not just on how things work, but why they matter. Clients value his reliability and his ability to solve complex problems methodically.
Over time, Sergiu has expanded from technical execution to a broader understanding of how technology supports real organizational needs. This makes him a strong collaborator not only in execution, but also in shaping the right direction for a project.
